Augusta is in the Washington School District

Unlike most of St. Charles County, Augusta is served by the Washington School District, which is based across the river in Franklin County. That surprises a lot of buyers, especially if they've been looking in Defiance or New Melle, where most homes are in Francis Howell. Confirm the district on the specific address before you get too attached to a house.

The homes here fall into two groups. In town, you'll find older homes, some dating back to the 1800s, on smaller lots with city sewer and water, a short walk from the wineries and the Katy Trail. Outside of town it's acreage, lake homes in Augusta Shores, and more properties on septic and well.

Homes for sale in Augusta, MO sit along Highway 94 in the southwest corner of St. Charles County, about five miles west of Defiance. The 63332 postal code covers the town and the countryside around it, including Augusta Shores, a gated community built around its own lakes. The Augusta wine region was the first American Viticultural Area in the country, and Klondike Park is just down the road.
