St. Charles County covers everything from historic river towns like St. Charles and Augusta to new subdivisions that used to be farmland. A townhome in St. Peters and a house on five acres in Defiance are both St. Charles County, so a county-wide number is good for getting your bearings and not much else. School districts don't follow the lines you'd expect either. Wentzville, Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt, St. Charles R-VI and Orchard Farm cover most of the county, and out west around Augusta, homes are in the Washington School District. Several of those districts cross city lines, so the district is a question about the specific address, not the town name on the listing.

St. Charles County, MO sits between the Missouri and Mississippi rivers, just across the Missouri from St. Louis County, and most commutes toward St. Louis run on Interstate 70, Interstate 64 or Route 364.
