St. Charles is served by three school districts, Francis Howell, St. Charles R-VI and Orchard Farm, and no single one of them covers the city. Which district an address belongs to is a question about that address rather than about the city, and it does not follow the postal code either. It is worth settling before you get attached to a house.
The other thing that catches buyers out is how different the two halves of the city are. The historic district along the river is older housing stock on small lots, within walking distance of Main Street. West of it the city runs into newer subdivisions on larger lots, which is a different kind of house at a different price, and a single citywide figure describes neither well.
